Legal details (locked), business type, excl. or incl. tax, licence, backups, staff sign-in, demo data, notifications, sounds and points of sale.

Before you start

  • For 🧭 Manager
  • Setting SettingsGeneral
Video tutorial — The General tab ▶ 3:30

Only the owner opens Settings; the manager only gets the cards marked (manager), in "limited settings".

The name, ICE, IF, RC and TP print on every receipt and Z, and tie the licence to one business.

This record shares its button with "Receipt customisation": saving here also saves unsaved edits of the Tickets tab.

Business type#

Restaurant, Café (dining), Coffee shop (counter), Retail shop, Bakery / Pastry shop, Butcher, Beauty salon, Other business. Owner only, with a confirmation.

  • Nothing is deleted: products, sales, stock, customers and tables stay; screens the new type does not use are hidden, and come back if you switch again.
  • Switches the old type had turned off by default are reset so the new type's possibilities appear; those you set yourself do not move. The new type applies its own defaults (for example, an "Other" business turns off tables, kitchen, waiter and kiosk).
  • The change is refused towards a type with no tables or orders to follow (retail, butcher, coffee shop, salon) while an order is still open, in the kitchen or ready: take payment or cancel them first.
  • The licence does not change: a box lists modules the new type would use but your subscription does not include; you then need a new licence key.
  • The type also drives: "Exact stock", "out-of-stock products blocked" and "special orders" (on by default for bakeries only), scale labels, online booking (salons), the demo catalogue. The change is noted in the log.

Price entry mode#

Prices excl. tax (default: VAT is added to the total) or Prices incl. tax (VAT is included in the price entered). It affects the cart and receipt calculation and the cart's VAT line, not the products' prices themselves.

Licence#

A read-only card (owner): "Licence active" (masked key, monthly or annual plan, activation date, expiry or "Perpetual") or "Demo version". No entry field: to activate or renew, contact support (phone and e-mail shown).

Backups (manager)#

A full copy of the business's data. Back up now, or Automatic: Never (default), Every day, Every week. The list gives the date (Morocco time), "Automatic" or "Manual", the size and Download. The last 14 are kept. To restore, contact support.

Staff PIN sign-in#

The address …/pin?org=<your business> to open on the till, floor and kitchen tablets (Open). Who appears on that page depends on "Till authentication" (Modules tab).

Demo data#

For demonstration accounts only:

  • Delete demo data (irreversible) removes the @demo.qodpos accounts, demo categories and products, demo ingredients, the demo sales history, all loyalty cards, all pending special orders and all scheduled appointments, and demo customers.
  • Re-import demo products replaces the whole catalogue (products and categories) with your business type's. This card only shows while demo data is present.
  • Demo history (bakery): 5 weeks of fictional sales ("DEMO-") to feed the batch forecast; running it again replaces the history.

Push notifications#

Push notifications (owner, on by default): orders in the kitchen, ready, cancelled… Each device must also accept the notification (see the waiter app).

Notification sounds#

Three rows — Kitchen (Beep by default), Floor (Chime), Till (Chime) — each with a switch, a sound (Chime, Beep, Alert, or an imported file: MP3, WAV or OGG, 2 MB at most) and Test.

Points of sale (manager: phone only)#

The list of points of sale (branches).

  • Add (owner): Name, VAT (%) (20 by default), Address, Phone (shown on receipts). A trial is limited to one point of sale. A new branch is always in MAD.
  • Edit: name, VAT, Currency (MAD, EUR, USD, GBP, SAR, AED, DZD, TND, XOF, EGP, QAR), address, phone. The address locks once filled ("contact support").
  • The point of sale's VAT is the single rate applied to the cart and receipts. A rate of 0 cannot be saved (it reverts to the old value or 20). There is no deletion.
