Installing QodPOS on a tablet or PC

QodPOS is not downloaded from an app store: you install it from the browser, in two taps. Once installed, the app opens full screen from the home screen, faster, like any ordinary app.

Installing#

1. Open your till's address in the tablet's or PC's browser.
2. When the browser considers the app installable, a banner appears:
   • on the till: "Install the app on this device";
   • on the waiter app: "Install the Waiter app";
   • on the kitchen screen: "Install the Kitchen app".
3. Tap Install, then confirm in the browser window.
4. The icon appears on the home screen (or in the PC's app menu).

Close the banner with the cross: it does not come back once the app is installed.

One app per job#

Each screen installs separately, with its own name and icon:

Install on each device the app that matches its station: the counter tablet gets the till, the floor tablet the waiter app, the kitchen screen the kitchen app.

Updates#

The app updates itself. When a new version is ready, a message offers to reload; if a sale is in progress at the till, it is put on hold before the reload so nothing is lost.

If the internet drops#

Counter sales keep going: the till records them on the device and sends them as soon as the connection is back. The waiter app, the kitchen screen and the kiosk need internet to work.
